Admission is based on an entrance test covering Math and
English, aligned with the current grade level of the
student.
Entrance tests are conducted online or offline. The academic
session begins in March, and the admission process starts on
October 1st of the preceding year.

Yes, Akal Academy Baru Sahib is a fully residential school

Yes, the academy is co-educational. However separate
classrooms
are provided for boys and girls from Grades VII to XII.

As per the school policy, Grade 11 admission is open only
for
girls,.
9. Is admission restricted to only students of the Sikh
Minority
community?
The school welcomes students of all religions, castes, and
creeds from India and abroad.
10. What is the age criterion for NRI students?
NRI students are generally admitted only up to the age of 12
years ( Garde VI). It has been our experience that overseas
students over the age of 12 years find it difficult to
adjust to
the school's routine and way of life. Decisions are however
made
on a case-by-case basis after detailed discussions and
interview
with the child's parents and teachers.
11. What is the difference between IB & Cambridge?
Both IB & Cambridge University (CAIE) are International
Curriculums. The only distinction between the two is that in
IB
(International Baccalaureate) classes are being offered from
Nursery to grade VI only, and in Cambridge University(
CAIE),
classes being offered are from grade VII-XII.
Both the curriculums emphasize experiential learning (beyond
classroom teaching) and lifelong learning( global learners).
12. Can a child change from one curriculum to another
curriculum?
Yes, except in grades X and XII. A child can switch from
CBSE to
Cambridge(CAIE) and vice versa in grades VI, VII, VIII, and
IX
or after Xth from CBSE to Cambridge (CAIE) or vice-versa.
13. Is there any child development programs in case a child
needs special assistance in any subject?
Yes. There is provision for an Individualized Education
Program
for such students and counselling cell with clinical
psychologist & well-being coach.

The fee varies by curriculum and grade. The detailed

No, NRI students have a different fee structure.

Parents can make the first call with their child 40 days

admission.
Akal Academy Baru sahib is not another school but teaches
schooling for life and extends nurturing, warm, caring and a
unique environment to the child, and respects the distinct
identity of each child.
However, parents can always contact Single Window Solutions
helpdesk for routine reporting about the settlement of the
child, in those early 4-6 weeks, as the school understands
that
the family will be concerned about the well being of the
child.
Thereafter, calls are arranged every 15 days, with one visit
permitted per month.
BOARD AND LODGING
FACILITIES FOR THE PARENTS VISITING THE CAMPUS
1. Can parents
visit
the campus?
Yes, for admissions on any day. Admissions are open till the
30th of June, however, in exceptional cases, admission can
be
considered till 31st Aug.
2. Is there
accommodation available in the campus?
Yes. Limited accommodation is available in campus which is
allotted on a first come first served basis. Parents are
permitted to stay for a maximum of 2 nights on each visit.
3. Is there a
canteen
on campus?
Yes, the campus has a 24-hour Langar and a paid restaurant,
"Apple A Day."
